I got up and then turn on my laptop as usual. Everything was ok at the beginning, twas when I tried to reply my mails, my keyboard didn’t work.. Anyway, will send it back for warranty… ~_~ Dunno how long it will take them to fix.. But anyway, will need to remove alot of thigns before sending it for warranty….
Tips that I learn from Tham if you have to send ur pc to shops for repair:-
1. Never use automatic sign in for things like emails, MSN / Yahoo messenger, ICQ, or anything that requires password because people would be able to install a hack software to locate the username & password ( I’ve found the software and tried it. It worked)
2. Backup your email and delete everything inside. This goes to those who uses an external mail software like outlook or incredible mail or thigns like that. For privacy purposes.
3. Clear everything like ur Internet cookies, history and offline files. This is important because for those who uses Internet banking they would be able to know ur username and it wouldn’t take long to find out what’s ur password.. This also applies to mails like yahoo or hotmail.. ( Again, I’ve found a software to did just that, so it works.)
4. Most important thing before sending to a shop for repair is BACKUP all ur important documents such as ur documents, email or any other documents that is used by softwares that you use. Nowadays not to offense any of the technician who might be reading this… But if you send to a shop for problems, normally they would just use the easy way out to solve a problem which is to format your PC. So what happen is that, all ur important data will be lost and when you say what happened to your files.. They would say that oh, can’t be backup because the virus ate up your files or some other lame excuse. If that were to happen you can ask them what’s the virus name that eats up a document file.
5. When they returned it to you, it is best that you perform a virus scan or a trojan scan to scan your pc. You never know what they could have installed inside your pc that will allow them to access your pc whenever you online.. But for your information, that would also be consider tresspassing and you can sue the bugger if that were to occur. But that I will put in a later post…
So my best suggestion to you is that, since you’ve already backup all your files.. Go and reformat and install everything by yourself
Troublesome yes, but in terms of security and privacy it is worth it.
Well, this is just an awareness that you guys might need to know what happens when you send it to a shop.. Why I know most of it ? Well, i’ve worked in one b4.. So I practicallly know what goes in and out of there
Anyway, have a nice day ^_^
