One of the Hakka tradition was that, once we’ve announced our engagement this would had to be distributed to ladies side’s friend and family. As it is just basically to announce that she has gotten engaged. But nowadays, most of this tradition were not practiced and what they do was that, just publish it in the newspaper and thus you have announced your engagement. Deluxe made the organza all by herself, she went to India street to purchase the materials. After that, we went to my aunt’s place to borrow her sewing machine and started the production for this piece. Forgot to take my camera back, so didn’t managed to take her while she was doing it in action. Anyway, inside this organza we had 5 items. 1 pack of curshed sweetened peanuts, 1 pack of compress peanuts, and 3 sweets. After realising that the organza wasn’t enough, rather than to make again we went and purchased some more organza from this nice seller on eBay.
Once that was done, we had to go and print our engagement cards out. Apparently that card cost more than what we expected. But it’s all good anyway, we went to the one just behind cutting edge 2, if I’m not mistaken. Can’t recall the address of that place, but anyway we’ve seen their quotation and saying that it’s expensive is because of the printing iron already cost so much. Managed to bargain a little bit, and that was done. So that’s pretty much about it.
Additional Tips When Preparing Engagement Sweets
When going to the printing shop, please clearly state for both husband and wife grand parents are still around. There will be an additional term that is needed to be printed out which will let people know that whether or not the grandparents are around.
