Once pass the immigration
Got up about 5.45am, and got a quick shower and head straight to the airport. Upon arrival, we went straight in to check in our luggage. Once that was over, Deluxe had to pay tax to enter to Malaysia. We first went into the coffee shop and had a cup of coffee to help keep us both awake. So it was a very long wait at the airport as our plane will depart in about 8.30am.

One of the statue that can be found
So have a look around in the airport. But most of the time we ended up going in and wait due to the fact we sort of explored everywhere already. I wanted to bring back some Kicap ABC Manis & Asin (Sweet & Salty), which was very good. But unfortunately due to the fact that they are more strict now we were not able to bring liquid over 100ml on board. -_-” Oh well, went inside the waiting room and sat there to board the plane. Watched woody woodpecker, and it was so hilarious especially it was in Indonesian. Anyway, it was not long before we board the plane.

On our way to KL
Upon arrival we went straight to the information center to see if we can hitch a ride to KL and spend some time there as our flight will only depart at 7.45pm (was suppose to be at 6.10pm, but you all know Air Asialah). After considering the fact that it will be way to expensive to travel down to KL we decided to stay in the airport instead. First we went to McDonalds for lunch.

Waiting Zone
After that, we went to the waiting area where others who were also waiting to catch their connecting flights. And some fell asleep on the bench. Deluxe and I was bored, so I ended up taking a 10 mins nap, while she was reading something. After that we decided to walk around to change the environment and had dinner at Asia Kitchen. Ok, the thing is that now is that here there are a lot of flies. So we were more busy shooing the flies rather than eating, which really help kill a lot of time. And also we also went to Coffee Bean and had a cup of coffee there. And ended up lepak there and talk about our wedding plans. It was about close to 6pm then we decided to check ourselves in and head for the departure room.

Deluxe got tired of waiting
While waiting in the departure room, suddenly this old lady walked right in front of us and spoke to us in Hakka if we were going to Kuching using a cheap flight. Then we said we were, then she said ok. That’s good, and walked away. Was pretty freaky in a sense that how does she know that we were able to speak hakka. Not long after that we looked around we couldn’t find the old lady anywhere. I think we were tired. Anyway, after a long 7 hours of waiting we were finally boarding the plane to Kuching. Once reached the airport, papa (who had arrived earlier today) picked us up and sent me home. Thus end my trip to Jakarta.
How did I find Jakarta?
I think Jakarta is a very good place to go and have a visit apart from the traffic jam. Note to all is that make sure you plan out your day properly before you go out and make sure you bring everything out with you. Because it will not be worth the journey just to go back and get the things if you have forgotten. And it would take a while to do so, so always remember to bring the stuff you need to use for the day. Anyway, I think it would be good if I had 2 weeks there and most likely I will be able to go to more places. So all in all, it’s all good.
What were my cultural shock?

Motorist carrying heavy loads
Well, you can’t really escape poverty anywhere. And people would just come up to you start singing or tapping your car window to ask for money. Maybe there are people here as well in Kuching just that maybe we never see them. And basically they can turn anything into business. There was one incident I saw a bicycle that was modified to fit in a sewing machine on it, and he would go around shouting his service if anyone need anything to sew anything. But indeed it is an eye opening experience for me, and it wasn’t as bad as I thought Jakarta would be how they put it on the TV. Like everyday riot, but the people here are friendly as well. So it’s all good..

Final pose for the day
Thus end my report on traveling to Jakarta. I’ll be going there again in less than a month time for my engagement party. So tune in then. Have a nice day.
