Keep It Real
Currently just formatted my laptop and now I’m running on Ubuntu instead of Windows. Really interesting in making this decision. But I guess it’s all good

Last month I actually participated in the Boys Brigade, Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) & Methodist Junior Youth Fellowship (MJYF) so called Amazing Race. Yes, we actually start from the church and also end in the church as well. Hehehe.. Unfortunately I posted this post way too long till I forgot all their names already.. Hahaha.. But it’s all good Anyway, this is actually how our race began…
Actually my thought was participating this was to help out in becoming the driver only. I never thought that I would end up participating as well.. -_-” Which was pretty funny how it all started. Yes, we broke into a few smaller groups whereby I had 2 from Boys Brigade, one from MYF & one more from MJYF. Task number 1 was a bit intriguing whereby we were asked to tie 3 different knots. So I was thinking, since we had the Boys Brigade it would be a piece of cake. Never would I expect that, we were the 5th or 6th team to actually get pass from there. Haha.. Anyway, it’s all good.. It wasn’t easy because they had to tie the knot based on the picture, and I was like ok. Hopefully these guys know what they were doing. Upon completion we were given the next task whereby we need to travel to Jolyn’s house to do our next task there.

Upon arriving there, we need to take a number in order for us to get in line to do our next task. This was when I started to take less pictures because I HAD TO BE INVOLVED, where I thought I was just the driver and the photographer. Ok.. Never mind, in this task we were asked to carry 20 bricks, and travel all the way to the other side in order to receive our next clue. For use 3 guys we had to take I think 5-6 bricks each. Unfortunately for us, after like walking 15 mins (yes those bricks began to feel heavy) we had to stop for a while to catch our breathe. Haha. I even overtook Kien Tung who actually finished the knots earlier, but only for him to catch up when we had to take a break. Lol. But it was good.. Thinking we had enough bricks, we left with just one brick and the whole group had to back and get it. Once we had 20 bricks, we were given our next task which is to form the Bible verse taken from Phillipians 4:14 which state “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.“. At least here we didn’t had much problem and managed to solve it quickly with the help of my Bible installed on my Sony Ericsson P990i. So we were pretty much back in the race. We got our next clue, and zoom to our next destination.

Our next destination brought us to Boulevard Shopping Center. Here we need to find 3 different products which are 1. Cottage Fries; 2. Hippo something & 3. Some sort of body shampoo. Then we are required to take all these 3 items and go up to a random shopper to take picture of it. And of course once we have all the 3 items we need to take a picture of the barcode. Then we had to look for the helper who is actually standing somewhere in the supermarket waiting for us to get the next clue. After we managed to find the items, we had gotten our next clue which brought us to our next task. Friendship Garden!
Here again no pictures due to the fact I was so called “involved”. Lol. Apparently what happened here was that, me and the boys had to tie our legs together and walk around the park in a 3 legged race. We had coordination problems in the beginning, but once we managed to got that covered we were sailing away passing one group who actually purposely didn’t want us to over take.. And the whole time we were shouting 1,2,1,2. Lol.. That was fun.. But of course it was painful because sometime our steps a bit off. Fortunately we didn’t trip, but slowly enjoy our walk. Upon arrival, the girl’s task was next whereby they had to answer all the questions and we were able to do in a while which pretty much lead us to our next destination. Which is some park name that I’ve also forgotten..( A very good reason why one should never procrastinate on blogging on major events ).

Anyway, upon arrival one of us had to do the task which is to count the number of trees in that park. While he was busy away counting a few of us just laid back and relax a while. Hehehe.. Which of course, when he got back and miscounted some trees.. Fortunately for him there were an extra eye to ensure the he got the numbers of trees correct.. Which was 111.. So off we go on our next journey where we had to go Abigail’s house for a pit stop. During this time we were given chicken rice for lunch and also the fast forward task was here. Because we had another 15 mins time of rest after we completed our meal, and since we can’t find it. We’ve decided to forget about the fast forward and head to our next destination. Star Cineplex.
Apparently Sim had left the place earlier, but we managed to catch up of course since going to Waterfront can be considered my territory.. Hehehe.. Anyway, we arrived at the Star Cineplex first and of course we started to look for the movie for each of the director’s that was listed on our clue. Yes, we were searching high and low for the movie because we didn’t know who direct the movie but rather only know the movie name.. Lol.. But it’s all good.. Once we’ve taken all 3 pictures of the 3 different movie, next stop was Main Bazaar! Lol, over here the trouble was that with parking. Probably we’ve did the wrong call whereby we should have left the car at star and just walk over and search for the shop. Anyway, we pretty much wasted quite a while searching for a parking and of course, after we managed to get a clue from one of the shop owners here. We rushed to the next destination at Parkson!
Probably this was the time killer or factor that pretty much took out a lot of our time. Yes, eventually we got holan. Because from the picture we thought we were looking for a pendant, and ended up looking at the price tag. We arrived there 3rd, and we began searching for our hidden treasure. I believed we took more than 45 minutes to actually find our items here. So you could imagine the horror when teams after teams just passed by us, and it only took them less than 5 minutes to search for their items. Once we’ve finally figured out which item we were supposed to look for, it gave us a matter of minutes to plucked it out. By then we’ve already lost so much time, and I think it was pretty difficult for us to gain back time from there. And I believed this was the place where I actually lost my phone which could have been plucked out right from my pocket without me realizing it.. -_-”

Anyway, our next destination took us to Ramai Cafe which was located at Jalan Haji Taha. So that time I was pretty much confuse on where the place could actually be. Because it sounds so familiar due to the fact I just recently reconstruct a website, then it suddenly brought me to my sense that it’s Vivian’s place because we were supposed to make Teh-C Peng. So we try to see if we could gain back time or not from there. So we headed over there and managed to find the place with ease, so the 4 went and try and see how to make the drinks while I go and buy some drinks to help replenish our sweat. Lol. Didn’t took long for them to prepare and of course had to drink it. So I guess it’s all good!

After completing our drinks, we were given the next clue to head over to Saberkas and do our final task. Which is either locating one of the person wearing a certain type of T-Shirt or get 3 business card and look for the organizer. Fortunately for us, when we arrived a car just finally moved out and gave us their parking space. And when we entered the shopping mall, in front of us was Abigail with the T-Shirt and we pretty much rushed towards her and get our final clue which was pretty much heading back to the church. So on our way there, I sort of told my gang stating that.. Well. Look at the bright side, at least we pretty much complete every task and managed to go through everything without any arguments. Lol. But the most important thing was that we all had fun, and the position doesn’t really matter. Cuz deep down, we know we’ve already won even though the race was still on.
Upon arrival we quickly stamp ourselves in, and unfortunately we lost two of our clues which we had another time penalty of 20 mins. We came in actually 3rd place and the time difference from the 1st place weren’t too really far apart. Hehe. And again, all of us just happily smiled away when two teams actually came in after we punched our clock. So leaving us at 5th place. Lol. But it’s all good and we were all happy, despite we lost the clue, time searching for the jewelery, and of course losing my phone. Yeah. We had a good time. Kudos to the organizers for doing such a great job and I believed we all were winners in the end.. Thus end my report for this. Lol. Finally slightly a bit more free due to the fact I can’t pretty much play games or edit photos on this laptop anymore.. So got more time in doing other things
