Dear Esther #2

So you’re 1 month, 2 weeks & 3 days old. Thanks to the lilypie counter daddy just installed over there, it pretty much helps me to keep track of how old are you now. Lol. So it’s all good. Your cousin Venice had her birthday yesterday, and apparently they had mee as well as red eggs :) So where to start? Daddy had been sort of busy & lazy to update this blog. But never the less, daddy will try to finish writing what I wanted to write to you today.

On the 1st of November, your Uncle Voon and Aunty Hephi got married. Daddy had to be driver cum best man on that day. And on the night before the wedding, daddy went over to Uncle Voon’s place to spend the night cause we had to leave his place very early. So this was the very first night daddy didn’t spend the night with you, and had to leave you with mummy. Daddy couldn’t sleep well was because daddy was not used to hear you not calling out in the middle of the night. And at times daddy woke up a few times, as I thought I heard you crying. But apparently daddy was just dreaming. Never the less, daddy had a 2 hour break in between before the wedding reception. So daddy decided to rush back instead and get a quick shower, and was finally able to hold you. When daddy held you in daddy’s arm, daddy just forgotten about the lack of sleep, being tired, and pretty much what had happen the whole day. It was good being able to see both you and mummy, and apparently within that short 30 minutes time spent with both mummy and you. Daddy was re energize for the remaining program during dinner.

On the 9th of November, we celebrated your full moon or rather full month festival. Aiseh, shouldn’t really call a festival lah, but as how Aunty Ru would put it as a sort of mummy out of jail celebration. Because mummy couldn’t get out from the house for 1 whole month to prevent from “masuk angin”. Speaking of which, you better thank Aunty Ru when you’re able to speak. Because if it wasn’t for her, we wouldn’t be able to get any pictures on that night. We had relatives from Kuching, which I haven’t seen in like probably more than a year. And also not to forget mummy’s friend, our cell group as well as church members came to celebrate with you. Ah Ta also came, and it was his first time seeing you. He was still a bit scared to carry you because he said he forgotten how to carry a baby. Anyway, Ah Ta and Ah Neh came from Miri just to celebrate with you. Both Kung Kung & Po Po was here all this while to take care of you when mummy was in confinement.

The next day we actually went and visit your doctor for a routine check up. Doctor Anne Kong said you grew very quickly. By then your weight was 4.6kg already, and about 55cm long. So after checking up on you, apparently it was also the time where you would need to have your injection for Hepatitis B. Mummy was holding you during that time, when suddenly you felt something sharp jab into your leg. Dr. Anne was quick, and by the time she pulled out you began crying. Really feel sorry for you during that time, as it might have given you a shock on what had just happened. When we got back home, you didn’t even sleep the whole day! Apparently we assume you were unhappy about the whole injection thing. As Kung Kung went and hold you, you were trying to tell him what had just happened with you cute but sad little eyes and movements. Ah Ta and Ah Neh was there as well trying to comfort you, but Ah Ta couldn’t stop taking pictures of you the whole time. Ah Ta prolly want to show off to his friends by showing a picture of you to them back home in Miri. Anyway, Kung Kung went and took a warm cloth and placed it over the place where you took your injection. Apparently he was saying that, you might not feel comfortable there and probably that might ease your pain. And true enough, you went to sleep not long after that. Ah Ta and Ah Neh, went back the next day hoping to see you again soon :)

We managed to finally bring you to church as well, where many were excited to see you. The 1st week you managed to keep quiet for an hour, that was before you start to make your little noise stating that it’s lunch time for you :) The following two weeks, you were brought into the baby’s room. There were other children there, but that didn’t seem to bother you as mummy continued to hold you and you occasionally just smile or make small noise to follow what the other children was doing. Last Sunday, Rev. Ang & Mrs. Ang was in town. They were the previous Pastor before Rev.Ampie and Pastor Ling. They heard so much about you, and wanted to meet you personally. As there were others wanted to catch up with them, Rev. Ampie came by and suddenly saw you. He patted you for a while, and decided to pray for you. Then the next day, we were given a surprise visit by both Rev. Ang and Mrs. Ang. It’s been a while since they came to the shop, but fortunately for them they were able to find it. And during that time mummy decided to come down and get rid of the garbage from upstairs. Just in time too, so they came and talked with us for a while then, ended up blessing you before they left. It was so nice of them to drop by even for a while, despite their busy schedule I believe.

On Tuesday, daddy was working on a presentation which was needed to show to a client whom daddy will be meeting over lunch. Mummy brought you downstairs to the living room and apparently she wanted to wash your bottles. So she left you with daddy, whereby you were inside your bed. As daddy carry on working, you kept on making noises and once daddy looked at you, you kept quiet. So this went on for a few times, and forgive daddy for being blur as daddy believed you wanted to play with daddy. And true enough, once daddy took you out from your bed you were smiling and tried to use your small little hand to reach daddy’s face. Because daddy would always remember that whenever you or mummy come and see daddy in the midst of daddy doing something. That would be intervention rather than interruption ^_^ So apparently it’s all good! So will be looking forward to more of your intervention in the near future ya. Anyway, daddy need to publish this post now. Until the next time..

With love,
Daddy
