U-Mobile SOU AKA Verzio Duplii
You might think I’ve been shopping quite a lot as of late. Haha, but what to do. I’ve actually sold off my blackberry to my friend as he told me he really wanted it. So I just let him have it. And I was currently holding 3 phones that time. So you could imagine why in the world I need to carry 3 phones with me. Well. 1st one is my main number, while the 2nd line was basically used to call my mom. It’s a sub line and it only cost me RM5/month. So I can talk to her as long as I want, and of course, Esther would be able to see her grandma back home in Miri. And the 3rd one I actually got it for the blackberry, as I was just trying to test out why everyone was so hype about blackberry. Anyway, after a while I was addicted to it plus it also take away my family time as well. Hehehe. So you pretty much catch the drift. Anyway, I was thinking of chucking that number away before I had other uses for it. So I will be using it for business purposes only. As I don’t want it to mix with my main line especially with work. I used to get late night calls for support, which I thought was a very huge mistake. At least with this new number, I would be able to switch off the phone and go to sleep in peace.

I bought this item through eBay, and was able to get a deal on it. As I was quite surprised no one wanted this phone, and it was there for me to take. Anyway, what you see in the picture is what I get minus the headphones and car charger. The fella could have lost it or something, but never the less I got the phone in one piece. Anyway, what so good about this phone is that it’s currently the only phone that supports dual sim with 3G video calls. All this while I’ve been switching from my HTC and K750 whenever I wanted to call my mom. So now, at least I won’t need to worry about that anymore. Plus, it also have an additional slot for my work number whereby I can actually set it to be switched off. So no one can pretty much bother me when I don’t need to be bothered. Hehehe.
Like the Samsung D880, this also pretty much give you the functions of being able to receive calls at the same time. Meaning to say if I’m busy on line 1, and someone decided to call me on line 2. What I can do is actually put line 1 on hold and talk to line 2. And if I know who that person is, we could have a 3 way conference call. Haven’t tried that feature yet, but will do it later once I have the time. Hehehe.
So far the phone haven’t been really giving me much problem, except that it uses the 4 x 3 layout unlike the conventional 3 x 4 layout. The 0 is at the right side of the phone, which might take a little while of getting used to. The menu inside, seems a little bit funny but it won’t take long before you pretty know what you plan to do with it. And yes, you could imagine the horror of messaging. Was trying to figure out where in the world can I switch off the T9 feature.

As for the whole phone it’s quite nice and not too bulky. At least I would not need to have extra pockets for placing this phone. So instead of 3 phones, I’m now down to 2. Pretty cool don’t you think? Another problem I had initially was that, when I tried to do a video call to my mom. I couldn’t seem to get the speaker phone to work. By the way, if you want to make a video call you are required to like go into menu, and select video calls from there. Think they couldn’t just slip it into any of the key features outside. Never the less, once you started dialing in order for you to switch to speaker phone you need to press the middle button. And only then you are able to hear the sound coming out from the speaker phones.
Apart from that, I’m still trying to personalize the main page menu. You can pretty much forget about the camera as it’s kinda hopeless inside the house. And even if you turn on the night shot the shutter lag is extremely long. I guess it’s only good for outdoor purposes. But I don’t really use it to take pictures, so I don’t mind actually. The front camera also same problem, and if I’m not mistaken it’s only 0.3 mp. So don’t expect too much from this phone.
I haven’t loaded any mp3s on to it, and I don’t see myself doing it anytime soon. Maybe just one or two to pretty much change the ringtones. But apart from that, I think that this phone is kinda solid. And for the price I paid for it, I think it was well worth the swap for the blackberry. Anyway, I think that’s pretty much about it for this phone. It came with 2 batteries, but I wonder if there’s like a 3rd party desktop charger for this. Because I find it pointless to have 2 batteries whereby when you need to charge two battery before you decided to head out. But I think I’ll just keep the 2nd battery as a spare.
Another problem people face with this phone is that, the headset is not replaceable. People tried using Nokia & Sony headset they were not able to get it to work. So I guess the only thing you can do is either go speaker phone or bluetooth. I just realized something, what happened if the battery decided to die halfway. Lol. I wonder if there would be any replacement for it. Anyway, that’s my review for this phone. Now I’m wondering if I could install any apps onto it.
