Our wedding engagement in Jakarta
Time indeed passes by so quickly, and today will mark our 3rd anniversary of being husband and wife. It has been a bitter sweet journey for the both of us, as we continue to learn to know each other even more. But never the less, knowing that I’m going to spend the rest of my life with you is something even words can’t ever describe that nothing in this world could ever take away the joy that you’ve given me.
Yes dear, indeed you’ve been a great blessing in my life. And I wonder at times how someone like you would ever understand someone who is as complicated as me. But God sure have His way in getting two people together. I know at times I was being “difficult” to you, but I thank you for being patient with me. Knowing the fact that because you love me that much you were able to see me through my ups and downs season. Thank you so much for loving me, and I seriously could not have asked for more. Looking back at how things started when we first got together was pretty funny. But as we grew closer together, I knew from that moment on that my heart had found someone it belonged to. And I’m so glad that person was you.
The joyous event of tea drinking ceremony
The day started out when I was still at home whereby I got up about 7am where I believed I only had 3 hours of sleep if I’m not mistaken. We were first at the hotel before heading down to church. I remembered during that morning we weren’t allowed to go in, as we thought there was someone guarding the door. But fortunately for me, there wasn’t apart from Ah Huat trying to make a fool out of us saying that there’s a long queue inside. But it was all good, as also I jokingly or pretty much was tired asking both your parents to drink coffee instead of tea. Boy was it fun then, as well as “Fut Ku” was there to represent all the relatives back home. After a numerous events of photo taking sessions, we headed off to the church.

On this day, I recalled how everything went by so quickly. And once everything started, there was no point of turning back. As both of us were pretty much calm down already, and whatever happens just let it happen. As both of us was a little bit frustrated the night before during the rehearsal. But thank God everything went smoothly that morning, but apparently you’ve forgotten to put on your veil as you walked in. Lol. Boy was that something that we need to remembered. That’s why I was wondering why in the world was the worship leader signaling me about, then your friends came to the rescue and fixed the problem during prayers. Lol.
But I could remembered how we were the first to arrive and had to hide because most of the guest wasn’t around yet. As I remembered our wedding should have started by 10am, and because there was someone else getting married as well using the same place. So after receiving a call, saying that we’re good to go. Everything went on smoothly especially for the emcee. So all ended well, and our next destination was to the hotel for lunch. ON the way there, a group of bikers congratulated us as they drove passed us giving us a honk and thumbs up. I guess everyone was in the mood of celebrating as well.

Once lunch was over, we headed back to my place for the tea drinking ceremony. Apparently we have a long list of people waiting in line to drink as they say the most expensive tea of their lives. Unfortunately for Brother Vic, who fell asleep throughout the whole ceremony asked why no one bothered to wake him up. By the time it was over, he was quite surprised to see you in the house already and also the whole thing was over. It’s all good I guess.
Then it wasn’t long before everything was over, and we only had like 1-2 hours of rest before continuing to the last part of our wedding on that day. But before that, we had to stopped by the saloon to get you fixed for the party that night and again. We were there extremely early. But we were told once again to hide from everyone else. So even though the wedding dinner invitation stated that we will start at 7pm, people started coming as early as 6.30 pm. Only then I realized that we were only allowed to go down once the hall was filled up to 80%. So I think the dinner started about 7.30 that night and ended about 9.45-10pm.
Climbing Kinabalu is by far the most craziest thing we ever did
During this 3 years after being married to you, I know that God has indeed blessed me with someone whom I shouldn’t actually deserve. But it shows how good and wonderful He really is. You have shown me despite of my weaknesses you have always been there for me, and loving me just the way I am. Life have been really great being with you all these years. And not to mention that the crazy things that we did together as husband and wife. At the end of the day, the things that I do what matter most is that I did it with you. And probably that’s why, we have an interesting marriage whereby surprises just pops up everyday. But it’s all good, and I thank God that I’m able to wake up every morning, just to have you by my side.

But after a year and a half, someone decided to join our family of 2 to be 3. Ever since Esther came into our lives, boy did she add more colors to it. Ever since then, life was never the same as both of us felt the responsibility of being parents were not easy, not to mention the amount of time needed to take care of Esther. Never the less, she has indeed brighten up our lives and of course helped us grow closer to each other.
Thank you for taking care of our beautiful baby, and not to mention one very big one as well. I know it’s been tough on you, especially with handling Esther. As I know she’s a handful that needs a lot of attention. But she’s indeed growing up to be a very fine young lady with you guidance. If it wasn’t for you, Esther probably wouldn’t know so many languages at once.
Every year, I would like to renew my vow to you that you will only be the one for me and that no one else could ever take your place in my heart. And as we continue to grow old together, I pray that God will continue to give us the best days of our lives by being together with you. And before I end this post, I would like to sing you a song to remind myself that everything I did for you was worth it. I love you dear, and Happy Anniversary.
