Something to talk about

So it’s been a while since I really did a post on more personal stuff or even parenting stuff.  I’ve not really been busy actually, but have been reading up more on Python and at the same time trying to fool around with App Inventor by google.  As most of you have already know by now I went and flashed my phone rom, from running Windows Mobile 6.1 to Android Froyo 2.2 Cyanogen version.  Will do a write up on a more details that maybe tomorrow.

Apart from that, life have been good.  Considering the new year is here, but everything else is pretty much still the same.  I’ve still yet to figure out what’s wrong with the latest version of Ubuntu 10.10, but I pretty much suspect it’s due to the latest kernel that apparently seem to freeze my laptop like every 10-15 minutes.  If I use the previous kernels, everything seems to be fine.  I’m still waiting for their latest patch but it seems, there way too many bugs.  So I guess sticking with 10.04 will be fine for now.

As 2010 left just like that without any much achievement, I wonder if 2011 would do the same.  But at least I know this year, as I’ m going to hit the number 30 maybe it’s time to pretty much look back on how far I got here.  And hopefully I wouldn’t get into any mid-life crisis.  But so many things had happened, and I wondered if things really happen for a reason.  And if I only had made the other decision back then, would things be different today?  But I guess it’s all in the past already, so just look forward to what will happen in the future.  Who knows something bigger may be in store for me.

But I guess that’s life, taking chances and hoping the decision you make is the right one.  So far, everything seems to be in proper order but at times you pretty much wish it could have been better if I wanted to have more.  Never the less, learn to have patience and perseverance hopefully everything will turn out all right in the end.  Sometimes I wonder if people do come and read what I blog or not. :P

Introducing Holan Geek

I was supposed to do a Happy New Year vlog this morning.  I was using the Ixy 30s to do a HD recording.  I only did a short clip of 3 minutes of recording, and found out that the file size was over 500mb.  So I ended up not wanting to post it as it will take a very long time for me to upload. Lol.

Anyway, so I decided to work on my other site which is Holan Geek – http://holangeek.alexjong.com.  In this site I would be pretty much document all the programming languages that I intend to learn once again.  Plus also it will be more on using linux, as it tends to help me concentrate more on working. Trust me, if I was on windows I would be playing away when I really have nothing to do or feel bored from working on something.

Anyway, it’s going to be a challenge now since I’m trying to handle this main blog as well as Holan Geek. Lol.  But I think it’s going to be fun especially my Sifu who is ever willing to help me out when I get stuck in a jam later.  Never the less do pay a visit to that site and let me know what you think.   So at least you won’t have to worry about source codes or programming languages on this blog.  I’ll keep it on that side.

Latest Updates

This morning I received an email from Itunes whereby they actually approved my podcast being placed there.  So hopefully I will be getting more traffic from there to listen to my podcast.  You can check it out here A Walk of Faith Podcast.  So do subscribe if you’re an apple user. Hehehe.  Apart from that Dennis and I will hopefully be doing more on the Good Morning Kuching Show, where I felt it is something different and maybe something to destress people hopefully.  Plus I’m now trying to see if I can stream my podcast on to Android as well as blackberry.

Also working on my main site as well, because still trying to find the right template as you noticed I haven’t have any adsense being displayed on my site.  Will try to look for it some other day.  Plus I’m writing a guide a swell getting reference from other books that I purchased.  So that is another small project that I’m working for 2011.  It may not be much, but currently trying to keep my hopes up.  So that’s pretty much about it.

First week of December has gone, so I’m trying to catch up and get myself ready for 2011.  Pretty much draw up my master plans already, hehehe.  We shall see how it goes by then, and it’s really been exciting actually to see things starting to fall into places.  One of the things, I realised when starting up I pretty much had big ideas on what I wanted to do.  But the problem is that, either I do it then halfway give up or just don’t make a point to do it.  But that all changed ever since I really started putting effort in trying to make a post everyday on this blog.  So at least, if I can do one thing daily I’m pretty sure that I can do everything else if I set my mind to it.

So Christmas will be coming soon, and it will be a busy month as there would be tons of practice.  But it’s all good, I believe.  Just as long as I manage my time properly for the next few week.  So hopefully I will continue write daily, and update this space and who knows google might even love me again. Hahaha.  As I was pretty much got kicked out by TLA due to posting way too many things in one week.  But who cares right.  As long as I’m happy.  Then I’m fine.  So you guys have a good evening.  See you all tomorrow.

Mystery of Main Bazaar

Opening The Green Door of Star Cineplex Carpark

There have been something fishy going on around Main Bazaar as of late.  And unfortunately, it does not affect everyone except me.  It always happen when I park my car outside the shop over night instead of our usual place.  As usual, before I go into the shop I would normally put the coupon on to the dashboard so that I wouldn’t need to worry waking up and quickly move it to the car park.  Last time it wasn’t that often, but it seems to be happening more frequently now.  What happen is that this morning, when I went out and was about to move my car.

My neighbor asked me why I left a RM1 note on my wiper.  They thought I was going to buy off the parking attendants not to write any more tickets for me.  But I told them I didn’t put there, and some more they told the parking attendant just take the money.  But apparently they didn’t.  As this was not the first time things like this has happened.  Previously, the money was shoved most of the time behind my car boot.  But this time, whoever left it there wanted to make it known that it was left with intentionally.

At first I thought when the person left it there, maybe they took petrol out from my car.  But fortunately for me, that was not the case.  First and fore most, I would like to thank whoever is doing this.  But would appreciate it if you don’t do it.  You might be the person whom always helped us sweep our front walkway or the other parking attendant who never wanted to write the fine even though we exceeded the time limit.  And may feel that the new guy is on a writing spree, so you may want to help lighten our burden.  Whoever you are, we appreciate it but like what Deluxe said.  If we need to pay it because we exceed the time frame we’ll just have to pay it.

So whoever you are thank you.  But we would also like to know why you did it in the first place as well.  I guess I might need to start installing CCTV as suggested by Dennis to see who is the person that is responsible for it.  Ah well.  We shall see how it goes.  You guys have a good day.

What to post….

Ok, really been a long time since I’ve became active. Anyway, it’s probably due to the numerous websites that I need to work on that’s been dragging my time at the moment. Apart from that, everything seems to be fine.  Business is as usual, as we are currently waiting for the school holidays which is end of next month.  Internet sales seems to pick up which is also good.  So I guess we’re pretty much doing ok.

This week started out really low for me, for no apparent reason.  Maybe it’s because weekend is over thus Monday starts again.  So you could say I’ve gotten the Monday blues.  I’m actually kinda blank on what I want to post.  At times, when I started to write something and then half way through, I just decided not to post at all.  Hopefully this post will go through before I decided to scrap this post as well.

Well, for starters I went and called up both RHB and Citibank this morning to cancel my cards with them.  As I’m on a mission to pretty much cancel all of the cards that I’m not using at the moment.  So Citibank actually asked me what’s wrong and why I wanted to cancel it, as I told them that I don’t use it.  Not only I would be charged by the Government RM50/year also their annual fees I would be charged as well.  But the lady Selina I think was kinda nice, and understanding and even told me that we have waived off the annual fees.   Never the less, their customer service is good until something bad happens again which was like few months ago that I don’t I want to mention it for now.  RHB requires me to head over to their bank and then cancel it there.  So I guess I’ll be going there tomorrow morning to pretty much settle that as well.

I went and ordered a part from US for my car, through eBay. It took about a month to reach me, whereby the item arrived 1 week after the seller posted it.  So you could imagine that my item was stuck in the custom office for 3 weeks.  But never the less, I was overjoyed when I receive the package last Friday.  And quickly tried to fix it into my car, but unfortunately for me it didn’t seems to work because of the different connection it uses.  Fortunately for me the connection part of my previous air  condition switch is still working, so I ended up prying open the replacement switch and then swapped it with my old connection.  And voila it worked.  There are 2-3 more items I’m planning to change again but might take a while.  As most of these things I’m currently working on myself rather then sending it to the mechanics.

So that’s pretty much about it for now.  Maybe tomorrow I shall do a post on how I managed to installed Android 2.2 Froyo on to my HTC TYTN II after failing for months.  Now that would be something to write about.  I’m currently switching from Ubuntu to Windows as of late.  As most of the software that I need was on Windows.  But when I develop sites and etc, I normally switch to Ubuntu instead, which is kinda nice considering that I’ve sort of changed it to look like a Mac OS.  So I’m pretty happy about it, just that I haven’t got the time to try out it’s Studio yet.  Maybe after I finished working on some sites, then will have fun playing with it.

Anyway, tonight’s is podcasting night so both Kevin and I will be back once again talking about losing weight.  Whereby both Kevin and I are not qualified or not in the position to talk about it due to our size.  Hahaha.  So we shall see how it turns out later.  You guys have a good day now.
