Anyway, this song is dedicated to all the politician of Malaysia. Stop fighting and get some work done. We’re not out from the recession yet. And remember we placed you there for a good reason. So stop messing up and forget your personal needs, but rather for the people. If you are seriously there for the people then I suggest that you sell off all your possession and use that money to help the poor. So if you can’t do that, don’t go and make any more sandiwara of being a hero and what not. Enough is enough already lah. The more you guys continue your in fighting, the more the people suffer. Grow up please. Here’s a song dedicated to all of you.

When I heard the news that a supposedly Pre-World War II tunnel have been found at Gambier street. One could have wonder the amount of treasures that could be found in those hidden chambers. Either I’ve been watching too much National Treasure or The Mummy, but you can’t deny the fact that there could actually be something of value.
Despite the numerous report that was done by Padungan assemblyman Dominique Ng to stop the demolition of this underground chamber, it was apparently filled up yesterday. Taken from “Chamber filled when PKR monitors turn their backs – The Borneo Post” KUCHING: Padungan assemblyman Dominique Ng was taken by surprise
yesterday when the contractor for the demolition of Gambier Street
Market resumed the work as early as 7am.
As Ng, who is from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), and his men were not
at the site to continue their ‘monitoring work’ – which was done in the
past 10 days – the contractor managed to fill up the ‘underground
chamber’.
This made PKR effort to station its men at the construction site -
which Ng claimed should be preserved under the National Heritage Act
2005, ever since the ‘underground chamber’ was discovered on July 13 -
a futile effort.
It is said some PKR men, including Ng would be at the site from 8am daily until the contractor’s workers were done for the day.
However the Sarawak Heritage Society (SHS) sent a team over to examine the place and concluded that this is just a common infrastructure that was used as a foundation for the building. By saying so, thus ends the whole conspiracy of the underground chambers that could lead up to Astana or Fort Margherita. But if what they say it’s true then probably this post would end here right now. But if you allow me to speculate that, what if these foundations were actually secret tunnels. And these tunnels were actually used as escape routes in case either the Astana or Fort Margherita was under siege.
As history states that The Astana was built during 1870 by Charles Brooke as a gift for his wife, while Fort Margherita was also built by him in 1879 to pretty much fend off pirates during those time. When I googled up Escape Tunnels and found out that “Throughout the British Isles and much of northern Europe escape tunnels were often part of the intrinsic design of fortified houses and palaces. The tunnel would typically be one half to two kilometers long and open in a location not readily visible to attackers.“ But one could argue that, maybe that Charles Brooke might not need an esacpe tunnel after all since he’s well guarded in his palace. But maybe he could have actually planned for all these during those 10 years while constructing both The Astana as well as Fort Margherita. Thus explaining these so called foundations were made to support the buildings that were built during the 1900.
Will we see anything inside these ruins? Well, maybe yes and maybe no. As there were a lot of cannons were found here locally in Borneo. As most of them were believed to be used for trading with villagers for herbs and spices back then. But in this case, Sarawak was invaded by the Japanese during 1941. One of my assumption is that, probably what could have happened when Vyner actually fled to Australia. He was not able to bring all his artillery with him. Maybe he could have order his subordinates to hide these artillery inside these chambers and probably seal up the entrance to prevent the Japanese from finding these weapons for their own usage. But Vyner Brooke returned to Sarawak during 1946 to resume his duties for about 3 months before he ceded Sarawak to the British government as a crown colony. But during these 3 months, could he actually transport all the artillery back to London? One must remember when James Brooke came it was during 1838 where he set foot on Kuching and managed to help the Sultan of Brunei to maintain peace and order with the locals as well as fending off pirates back then.
Maybe for Vyner Brooke back then could probably say to himself as these items did not belong to him and maybe it wasn’t any much of value anyway. So he could have left it there and not trouble himself to pack everything and go. But then again, who knows if these foundations are actually foundations to support the buildings. This is what I heard from my neighbors that, the shop is actually above the river which explains at times why the walls are always damp whenever we put a new fresh coat of paint. And also, when the flood came early this year the drain started to overflow.
Honestly I was a bit disappointed when they decided to demolish the site without trying to make an effort to actually go dig down there and see if there are any ancient artifacts just to please the opposition party and maybe the public for once. Who knows if there were actually ancient artifacts, it probably could help boost the tourism rate here in Sarawak. If nothing is found, then I guess, during the next parliament sitting in the new DUN, everyone would have a good laugh. But to developers, for them I guess they would say that if they were to continue to delay the project it would incur more loss. So is this probably one of the reason why developers hate opposition party. As they always tend to get in the way one way or the other. Lol. Either that, there could be a bigger conspiracy theory that they were trying to hide something and maybe keep it for themselves later.
Anyway, whatever reason that maybe. Please take note that whatever I wrote up here is just a mere speculation on what could actually be found hidden in those chambers. But if SHS said that it’s just a common infrastructure then I guess there would be no point continue carrying forward talking about it. Since I was super free today, I decided to come up with this theory just to keep myself satisfied. Coming from a background where I used to hate history back in school, I’m kinda amaze how my perception for history has kinda changed ever since I work here in the shop. As history plays an important role in our lives, not only we learn from our forefathers. But also learn to appreciate for all the things they did for us. Anyway, I hope this post would enlighten your day and who knows they might make a movie out of this underground chambers. Oh well, it’s all good. You guys have a good week.

I have been considering to start blogging about politics for a very long time. But have always been told that I need to be very careful in what I say or post on this blog as it might be classify as seditious. Anyway, whatever I post here is basically what I think and I will promise to read through the 1948 Sedition Act before I post anything.
Ok, on to my main agenda for this very first post. What actually caught my interests in politics was due to a friend of mine who have been nagging at me to register as a voter. I jokingly told him that, if I register as a voter I will be voting for the current government. He told me, he does not care who I vote for. But the most important thing is that I practice my rights as a Malaysian.
So not long after that, I went and register myself as a voter through another friend. And began to start reading the news on what has been happening in our country due to the fact of oil prices. After that, I found that I’ve been missing out a lot of things on what is actually happening in our country. 3 years ago, the only news I read about was only every Tuesday and Friday (They changed it to Saturday) about 1pm. Just click on the day and find out what I’ve been following faithfully over the past 11 years faithfully. I started out reading Borneo Post, The Star, then The Malaysian Insider, MalaysiaKini and a few more blogs, I only began to realised that instead of waiting twice a week for a WWE match. I can read WWE matches everyday here in Malaysia. You see the government whacking the opposition and vice versa, and their PayPerView would probably be during the time when you see them whacking each other again during the Parliament sittings. So yeah, for those haven’t start reading the newspaper I’ve pretty much gave you an idea what you are missing.
So one must wonder why is it important for one to vote during an election? Why would one even bother queing up just to put a small paper inside a box? You might think that no matter who wins, it will never make a difference. You’ll always think that, BN will always win no matter what. And voting for the opposition is a waste of time because all they do is bark, but does not bite. So why vote, when you pretty much know what the results are. Plus it’s only 1 vote only. What can 1 vote actually do to make a difference?
Well, 1 vote actually does make a difference. if there were 66 people who came out and vote during the Manek Urai by election, then because of that 66 votes the government would have taken back Manek Urai. But because of this 66 people said that their 1 vote will not make any difference because I’m just 1 vote only. But it’s because of that 1 vote, a bridge connecting Manek Urai will not materialiase. Whether they will do it or not, will be another question. But that goes to show how powerful is 1 vote during the General Election or any By Election.
Some may think that, voting for the government is a better choice because if the opposition do take over, they will start to fill their pockets first till they have enough. Whereby the current government is now being generous to develop the country because they have eaten enough already. A very good example why people are still skeptical in voting opposition is probably due to what has happened in Perak. You’ve got to admit that it just took 3 people to pretty much topple an opposition led government. Why? Well I believe everyone knows the story what has happened so no point mentioning all over again. Since it’s pretty much cooled off already, from where I’m looking at. It proves to show that people do have short memory, so I guess next General Election will be very interesting.
Someone once told me that the current government is doing a very good job at what they are right now. So I have no complaints, then I shouldn’t bother even voting. Because they will always win at the end of the day. As much as I want to tell that person I told you so, but I don’t know where he is right now. But coming out from the General Election 2008, you can see that the current goverment has already lost 2/3 of the majority. But only managed to secure a slight majority in order to stay in power. So if you think that the current government will always stay in power, well then you better think it over again.
But if you’re someone like me, who pretty much sit on the fence. And you don’t know who to vote for, then you are considered the most important voters throughout the whole Malaysia. Let me tell you why you are important. Basically the opposition and the current government already have their die hard supporters. But it’s because people like us, they are trying hard to campaign and win our votes. Sure you tend to get lots of goodies and promises during these campaign, but at the end of the day. You still have no idea on who to vote for, and that’s why in order to avoid this unnecessary stress you decided not to register and cast your votes.
Let me tell you my experience my when I cast my first ballot during the last General Election. I suddenly felt this great power enthrusted upon me. It was an AWESOME feeling, and it felt really good. Because the whole Malaysia is counting on my vote to see whoever win during the election. But who did I vote for? I went and vote for the opposition. Why in the world would I vote for the opposition? Well, basically this is my reasoning behind all of this. And hopefully this will pretty much gives you an idea who to vote for the next up coming election.
No doubt the government had did a lot for this country, but I feel that they could do even more. Not just by tearing down trees and make another flyover just to prevent traffic jams during rush hour. But rather, look at the people who are currently poor, oppressed and marginalised. But we still need to vote for the opposition to give them a check balance, and remind the government who are the real boss are.
So lets say during the next General Election, the opposition does win and managed to form the new government by then. Who do you vote for during the next General Election? Again, I will vote for the opposition party which would be BN by then and give them back the power. If everyone were to think that way, then they will know what they need to do in order to stay in power. By doing so, then a lot of things will change. For example all the arm forces will then have to be independant. And you would have top class arm forces will bust you whether you are government or opposition with no fear.
Anyway, these are only my personal opinions. But never the less. My challenge to all of you, who have not register to vote. Go ahead and register today, and make sure you’ll join the battle in the next Election. It doesn’t matter who you vote, government or opposition. What matter most is that you need to know your rights, and also make a difference in this country. So don’t just sit there and read this post. Go out there, get yourself registered and start to make a difference in this country. Have a nice day.

I was deeply sadden when I read what happened to Mr.Teoh Beng Hock this morning. This was the similar feeling I had, when I also read what has happened to A.Kugan just earlier this year. I could not imagine how things like this could actually happened, but it did sad to say. This person is just beginning to live his life, but unfortunately for him. I guess life took a turn on him. At the moment, we are not sure how this actually happened. So I do hope that the police will really be transparent on the investigation and hopefully there would not be any cover ups.
After reading this article, the first thing I did was hold Esther and didn’t want to let her go. Being a parent, I do hope nothing like this will befall upon my family. What did Teoh deserve this treatment? As far as I’m concern, he seems to look like a decent fella who love doing his job and couldn’t wait to get hitch today. So I guess life is pretty going well for him, and I seriously doubt that he would want to end it on his own. As I was pretty much excited when I was about to get married.
But then again, we do not know what actually happened. And I am seriously hoping that whatever happened to him will be revealed. Already there are speculation on what could actually happened to him, but I guess they are only speculation. I was pretty much in tears when I read the news on what has happened, because I know how it felt to lose someone who is very dear to you. My deepest condolences to the Teoh family, and his fiancee. May God comfort you in times like this. God Bless.
MoreWell.. Yeah, the topics pretty much says it all. Basically this is my message to the people in parliament.. No doubt politics here in Malaysia pretty much got my attention ever since the Perak incident. And it’s pretty tiring keeping up to date on the situation. Despite the fact that Ringgit could breach 3.80 mark soon, which I think it’s good news because by then people would consider importing our stuff to their country. So I think it’s not that all bad
So yeah, put our differences aside first, work together, and when EVERYONE has a job doing well, then probably you guys can do the power struggle again for all I care (hopefully that wouldn’t happened in the near future again). But right now, I believe people are being retrenched every day now due to the recession, and crime rate has been increasing drastically. So yah.. This is a music video which I’m dedicating to all the representative who are currently in the parliament. I think I said enough, because fighting wouldn’t solve the matter here now. What is important now is the people, not a chair inside a building -_-” If you guys still wanna duke it out, prolly I suggest you guys can settle it by having a Rock, Paper, Scissors contest. And the person who win 2 out of 3 wins. Save time and money
So let’s all kiss and make up, and put this all aside first and start working like what you were intend to do in the first place.
