PayPal & Local Banks

Paypal  Good news everyone.  You can now withdraw your paypal funds locally.  I haven’t tried it out personally yet.  But I’ll give it a shot in my next paypal funds which I estimate will be arriving sometime next week.  Hehehe.  From what I understand is that, it will charge you a minimal fee of RM3 if you decide to withdraw less than RM400.  But if it’s more than RM400 then there will be no charges.  Cool don’t you think.  It’s better compared to the USD5 withdrawal through your credit or debit card.  Anyway, stay tuned while I’ll be doing a test withdrawal in the next few weeks.  Have a nice day!

PB Day2Day Visa Debit Card Withdraw Paypal Success

This was pretty much my expression when I checked my account this morning  But before I go on, apparently I was having some problems with joomla latest patch.  Probably the only way to solve it is doing a fresh install if not roll back to the previous version.  Which pretty much is a bummer because I don’t think I have the time to work on it bit by bit.  Hopefully they’ll come up with a patch soon.  The problem is that, in Firefox if I were to save an article or post it, I’ll get an error.  So far there don’t seem to be anything wrong with IE, but when I save the article, it doesn’t save the formatting. So forgive me if this will be a messy post.
Anyway, as the title pretty much speaks for itself. I was able to withdraw my paypal funds successfully via Public Bank Day2Day Visa Debit Card.  So my next course of action is probably cancel my Visa Electron Card and stick to PB Day2Day card.  The reason is due to the fact that it is cheaper to maintain, plus I have an additional saving account which can be used for trading online.

Went and withdraw on the 2nd of July Managed To Received The Money Today

So you can see that my withdrawal was successful.  But let’s take a look at the transaction on the 01-07-2009.  I was given the credit of RM0.02 instantly, which was due to the fact that I made a transaction via PayPal for the verification process.  Unlike Visa Electron you might need to wait until the end of the year before you can actually use the cashback value.  Pretty cool don’t you think?

Anyway, for those who wish to upgrade your bankcard to this, there are pros and cons which you would like to consider which I stated in my previous post.  But never the less, it’s all good ;)   So I do hope that this final post for the PB Day2Day card will help you decide on which card you would like to take.

Oh before I forget, in order for you to use this card online you must first apply for the Verify with Visa, which you can actually do it at the public bank website.  Like the Public Bank Visa Electron Debit card, the credit limit you must enter is 000000.  Then you can enter a new pin already by then.  Have a nice day.

Don't Have A Credit Card?

So you don’t have a credit card, how would you buy or sell on eBay. Well, there are a few banks who are offering debit cards that are able to be used for internet purchases. Here are the list of them :-

Ambank – AmBank NexG PrePaid MasterCard
Eon Bank – Mol Freedom
Public Bank – Public Bank Visa Electron Debit Card

Why it is important to have a credit card or a debit card is because when you are trading internationally, this is how PayPal as well as eBay will be able to verify us via our billing address. So that people would know you are for real, and not a fraud or a conman. So which card is best for you if you don’t really have a card?

Currently PayPal will only be able to withdraw to a VISA card. So the Public Bank Visa Electron card would be a good choice. But the only draw back for this is that, it would take at least 1 month to one and a half months for it to get approved and to be used. So the best option is probably you could wait for the card or apply for a MOL Freedom card (which normally takes about 10 working days for the card to be activated) first while waiting for the public bank card to arrive.

Benefits of Having a debit card
It is safer to place a debit card rather than a credit card on file. So that you should place a minimum amount in the card so that your funds will not be used.
Not over spending, whereby you would know your limit so you wouldn’t need to worry on over spending.

So if you don’t have a credit card, get a debit card and start selling on eBay today.

Withdraw Paypal Funds To Malaysia Local Bank? Not Yet!

In my previous post, as I mention that Paypal might be surprising Malaysia any time soon? Well.. I guess they haven’t yet. Apparently we’re not that lucky yet :( But for Indonesia, Philippines, Luxembourg , India & Slovakia. They are able to do so now. You can actually view them here.

So what’s the reason how come other countries are able to withdraw but not Malaysia yet? Well, basically that’s left to the government to decide. The reason being said so is probably they are worried that $$$ will be going out freely. Either that, there are only a minority group of people who are actually using paypal within the whole Malaysia. Well call it a conspiracy theory, whatever that is. Let us all hope that Paypal would indeed be able to help us withdraw to our local banks.

Speaking of which, this might indeed cause other chain reaction. As you know that suddenly if let say you’re an active seller and then money keep on pumping into your account. Yeah, for the first few times the bank wouldn’t mind. But what happened when suddenly you are able to pay for a BMW or a house.. Well, that’s when the Inland Revenue fella’s would call you up and suddenly tell you that they want to investigate you. After going through your bank account, and all that. You got slap with one huge saman. And probably they’ll ask you why didn’t you report your income, and then jeng, jeng, jeng. You end up hutang them and thus end of story.

Anyway, I went and opened up a tax file recently. But most likely I’ll post it up in a different post.. :) Since we can withdraw now to a visa card, at least it won’t be so bad or long before we can withdraw it to our local banks here.
